In Stupid Never Dies, the Wyvern is one of the most notable first bosses you’ll encounter, and a significant step up from the foes you’ve faced thus far in Davy’s journey. If you’re getting ready to face the Wyvern at the end of your next dungeon run, then knowing what to expect for the fight will be useful.
In this guide, we’ll walk you through the main threats of the Wyvern fight, including the attack patterns, environmental hazards, the best Combat Style to choose for the fight, and tips to help you defeat the Wyvern with as little hassle as possible.
How to Beat the Wyvern in Stupid Never Dies

In Stupid Never Dies, the Wyvern is a large flying enemy that utilizes powerful fire and wind-based attacks. If you’re not prepared, these attacks can quickly wipe out your health, so you’ll need to be careful and keep its attack patterns in mind.
Wyvern Attack Patterns & Threats

The Wyvern is equipped with explosive fire attacks, flying into the sky and hurling massive fireballs down towards you. Not only do these deal significant damage to Davy, but they also leave fiery, lava-like terrain hazards across the battle area, meaning you will take burning damage if you make contact with these surfaces.
To up the pressure a little more, the Wyvern will also create large gusts of wind that can push you back as well as push the fiery terrain towards you. Be ready to move out of the way and use your jump and stupid parry to try and dodge these threats.

There are also several pillars around the arena that can be use as natural cover from the bursts of wind and the moving flames.
The Wyvern also has a dash attack that can inflict impact damage, so be prepared for it to come soaring right at you at some point!

The Wyvern doesn’t just create wind that can push you around, it also creates little vortexes that can give you a vertical boost into the air.
One of the Wyvern’s greatest advantages is its sheer aerial power, so this is a brilliant way to get some airtime and initiate attacks on the Wyvern with your combos in the sky.
Best Styles for Fighting the Wyvern
During the Wyvern fight, you more than likely will be restricted to the Werewolf and Harpy forms out of the style options that have been unlocked.
While it might seem like a good idea to go Harpy to match the Wyvern’s flight ability and focus on dueling from the sky, the Werewolf Style is actually the optimal pick when going up against the Wyvern. Try to make sure you have one all set in your Style Spots as you head into the fight!

Tips for Beating the Wyvern in Stupid Never Dies

The Wyvern boss is level 27, so you will want to make sure that you are around the same level. You can even try to show up over-leveled and make the fight easier by completing as many layers as possible prior, rather than skipping. Just remember not to run out of time!
- Stay mobile! – The fireball attacks have rather large hitboxes/areas of effect, so you need to stay moving to avoid them. This is also true for the wind, as not repositioning fast enough can get you caught in the flames once the Wyvern blows them towards you. Luckily, the Werewolf Style has decent horizontal ground movement, so this is doable.
- Chain as many attacks as possible during available windows – To defeat the Wyvern, you must take an aggressive, offensive approach. Farm as many attacks as possible by dishing out the Werewolf Style’s main combo in repetition.
- Use Stupid Parry & Bite to keep yourself alive during your aggressive plays – Stupid Parry can help you survive some of the damage you’d otherwise take when attacking the Wyvern in melee. You can then follow up with a Bite when needed to restore some health, letting you continue to play aggressively and weave in and out for your combos.
- Use all of your Skills / OT Gear attacks / alongside your combo as soon as the Wyvern drops – After dealing a significant portion of damage, the Wyvern will fall to the ground, giving you a window where it is incredibly vulnerable.
- Use this opportunity to immediately use up any available skills and passives or bonus attacks linked to OT Gear Body Hacks, and then start farming the heck out of your combos to get rid of a chunk of that pesky Wyvern’s HP bar!
